Product review • Updated 10 September 2026
The Honeywell Air Touch V4 needs to be judged by realistic room coverage and ongoing filter supply. This review corrects the older humidifier description and explains what the published specifications mean for a family home.

Is the Honeywell V4 still worth considering?
Consider it as a single-room particle purifier if the room size, replacement filters and operating modes suit you. Its headline coverage figure should not be read as five air changes per hour in every 543 sq ft room.
This review covers the Air Touch V4, India model HC000019/AP/V4. It is an air purifier, not a humidifier. It filters recirculated room air; it does not add water vapour or fresh outdoor air.

The brand-licensee’s India V4 page remained available but showed the unit sold out on 10 September 2026. That is a stock observation, not proof that the model is discontinued. Availability through other sellers needs checking separately.
Verified listing details and their limits
| Published specification | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| CADR up to 350 m³/h | A rated airflow-cleaning figure, not a measurement in your home. |
| Coverage up to 543 sq ft / 50 m² | Depends on ceiling height and the air-change rate being assumed. |
| H13 HEPA plus other filter layers | Particle filtration and gas/odour adsorption are different tasks. |
| Three fan speeds, sleep mode and 1–12 hour timer | The old review incorrectly said sleep mode and a timer were absent. |
| 40 W rated power | An upper-rating calculation can help budget electricity; actual use varies. |
| PM2.5 display and remote control | Useful controls, but the display is not a complete air-quality monitor. |
The listing calls the filter system five-stage: anti-bacterial, silver-ion, H13 HEPA, cold-catalyst and activated-carbon layers, arranged in two compound filters. Counting layers is not a reliable way to rank purifiers. Compare room-sized clean-air delivery, acceptable noise and filter costs instead.
These are manufacturer specifications. We have not independently measured CADR, sound levels, pollutant reduction or filter lifespan, and have not assigned a performance score.
Make the room-size calculation explicit
Air changes per hour can be estimated as CADR divided by room volume. Keep the units consistent: m³/h divided by m³ gives changes per hour. This is an idealised calculation, not a promise about real-world cleaning.
| Example at a 2.7 m ceiling | Room volume | 350 m³/h ÷ volume |
|---|---|---|
| 20 m² room | 54 m³ | About 6.5 changes/hour |
| 30 m² room | 81 m³ | About 4.3 changes/hour |
| 50 m² room | 135 m³ | About 2.6 changes/hour |
At the same ceiling height, five theoretical changes an hour would correspond to approximately 26 m², or 279 sq ft. That explains why the advertised maximum area and a five-changes claim should not be combined without knowing their assumptions.
These examples assume the full 350 m³/h rating. A quieter speed, loaded filters, open doors and connected rooms change the result. For a bedroom, choose based on the speed you can tolerate during sleep. A device that is adequate only at a speed you never use may be a poor fit.
Measure the whole connected area if doors stay open. Do not expect one portable unit in a hallway to deliver its rated clean air evenly to several closed bedrooms.
Sleep mode, sensor and everyday placement
The official listing confirms sleep mode and a shut-off timer. Its FAQ associates the quoted 34.4 dB(A) figure with low speed, while other copy is less consistent. We therefore do not describe all speeds as equally quiet or present that number as a tested bedroom result.
A PM2.5 reading helps you notice particle changes, but a low reading does not mean the room has adequate ventilation or is free of gases, carbon monoxide or every allergen. Avoid using the display as a health diagnosis.
Position the unit on a stable surface with the clearances required by its manual. Keep air inlets and outlets unobstructed and the cable away from children. Do not tuck it behind curtains or place it where toys can cover the intake.
If you use auto mode, check that its behaviour suits your room. If you choose a manual fan speed, remember that the purifier may no longer adjust that speed in response to the sensor. A timer switches operation off; it does not establish that the room will stay clean afterward.
UV, ionizer and health claims
The current official V4 listing explicitly includes UV LED and an ionizer. Their presence is now verified as a manufacturer claim; their clinical effectiveness and this unit’s ozone emissions were not independently established here.
The EPA explains that some electronic air cleaners can produce ozone, which irritates lungs. This does not prove that a particular V4 emits an unsafe level. Ask for relevant model-specific emissions documentation and confirm whether optional functions can be disabled using the matching manual.
Do not buy the purifier because of an unsupported claim that it prevents flu, cures asthma or neutralises harmful “positive ions” from electronics. Filter efficiency figures do not translate into a guarantee that a lived-in room loses the same percentage of all pollutants.
EPA guidance on home air cleaners treats filtration as a supplement to reducing pollution sources and ventilating with clean outdoor air. Avoid smoking or burning incense indoors, address dampness and choose ventilation times appropriate to outdoor conditions. A purifier is not a substitute for prescribed care or a carbon-monoxide alarm.
Replacement filters and maintenance
A matching V4 compound anti-bacterial/HEPA replacement filter is listed with code HC000058/AP/SPR/V4. The listing establishes a spare-part identity, not guaranteed delivery or the completeness of a full replacement set. The V4 also uses a second compound filter, so confirm both required parts before ordering.
Ask the seller for current filter stock and the total cost of the full set. Do not choose a V3, V5 or similarly shaped filter just because it fits inside the compartment. Check the purifier model on the label and the compatibility printed on the replacement packaging.
The advertised lifespan of up to 9,000 hours or one year is conditional on use and pollution. Inspect and replace according to the manual and filter indicators. Heavy dust or smoke can change the maintenance needs; a calendar claim is not permission to ignore reduced airflow or a damaged filter.
Switch off and unplug before accessing the filter compartment. Remove new-filter packaging and install parts in the specified order. Do not wash HEPA or carbon media unless the exact manual explicitly permits it. The humidifier-cleaning instructions linked in the older review were inappropriate for this device.
Running cost and a useful comparison
Using the 40 W rating as an illustration, 12 hours a day for 30 days is 14.4 kWh. Multiply that by your own marginal electricity tariff: at ₹8 per kWh, the example is about ₹115 for the month. This is a calculation, not a measured bill, and replacement filters are extra.
Compare alternatives on the same basis: room volume, desired clean-air delivery, tolerable speed, replacement-set cost and service support. Features such as app control or an extra advertised filter stage do not automatically make another purifier more effective.
If you also need help with dry indoor air, our baby-room humidifier guide explains that separate device category. Do not add water, fragrances or essential oils to the V4. Our baby health and safety guide covers the wider home-care context.
For existing owners, accessible genuine filters may be a stronger reason to keep a working V4 than buying a new device for novelty. For new buyers, unclear filter supply or emissions documentation is a reason to compare other models before committing.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Air Touch V4 a humidifier?
No. It filters room air and does not add moisture. Never pour water into it.
Does it have sleep mode and a timer?
Yes, the current official listing specifies sleep mode and a 1–12 hour timer. The previous statement that both were missing was incorrect.
Can it clean a 543 sq ft room five times an hour?
Not under every ceiling-height assumption. At 50 m² and a 2.7 m ceiling, 350 m³/h corresponds to about 2.6 theoretical air changes per hour.
Does it have UV and an ionizer?
The manufacturer currently lists both. That does not establish infection prevention or independently verified ozone performance.
Can I wash its HEPA filter?
Do not wash it unless your exact manual explicitly allows it. Check cleaning and replacement instructions for each component.
Is the V4 discontinued?
We have not established that. Its official page showed sold out at this review, while replacement-filter listings remained discoverable. Confirm current stock and service support.
